Experience

Additional Requirements

  • At least 03 years working experience in community mobilization, stakeholder engagement, disaster risk reduction and emergency response issues. Experiences may be relaxed for a highly qualified person
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including marginalized communities, technical experts, and local authorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities & Context

Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) <www.ypsa.org> is an organization for sustainable development working in the greater Chattogram division since 1985. YPSA is implementing a project on “People’s Adaptation Plans (PAPs) for Inclusive Climate Smart Cities” in Chattogram Division (Feni, Laksam & Mirsharai Upazila) in partnership with Save the Children. YPSA is inviting application from experienced professionals with proven track records for the following position for the Project.

Job Title: Field Officer

Job Location: Chattogram Division (Feni, Laksam & Mirsharai Upazila)

Duration: 1st August 2024 to 31st May 2025

No. of Vacancy: 06 (2 in Laksam, 2 in Feni, and 2 in Mirsharai)

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out project activities at community level for supporting the overall planning of the project.
  • Maintain regular communication with community and liaison with different government departments, district and upazilla level administrations, local government institutions, CSO, CBO, Local Medias in the project area
  • Organize project activities including capacity building activities, meeting, workshop, orientations and event at respective areas with different stakeholders
  • Conduct household numbering and enumeration in targeted informal settlements through community mobilizers with the support of a technical partner.
  • Assis to conduct Climate Vulnerability and Risk Assessments (CVRA) in targeted wards with the support of a technical partner.
  • Collect field data as per project need.
  • Work with communities, including marginalized groups, to develop local-level inclusive adaptation plans for selected informal settlements.
  • Disseminate endorsed copies of CVRA reports, PAPs, and Community Adaptation Plans to municipalities.
  • Develop event report and preserve all field records.
  • Maintain child and gender-sensitive approach in all stages and maintain safeguarding measures
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for all project activities.
  • Provide field level project information to Project Officer and preserve all field records.
  • Follow up Project activities in the targeted areas.
  • Any other task assigned by the Management
