Requirements

Education

  • Batchelor or Masters’s degree in Social Science, Development Studies, or a related field. Specialized training in CBR or disability inclusion is an advantage. No third class will be applicable.

Experience

  • At least 5 years

Additional Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in training or capacity-building roles, preferably in disability inclusion or community development programs. Proven track record of facilitating workshops and training sessions for diverse audiences.
  • Age: Maximum 45 Years (Age limit will flexible in experienced candidate).
  • Skills and Competency Required:
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills.
  • MIS and MEAL skill will get priority.
  • Strong understanding of disability rights, CBR principles, and inclusive development.
  • Proficiency in using training aids and materials, including digital tools.
  • Ability to adapt training approaches to different cultural and contextual needs.
  • Fluent in spoken and written Bangla and English.
  • Excellent reporting and documentation skills.
  • Computer skills: Very good skills in MS Office applications-word/excel/power point presentation, database and familiar with Internet. Typing speed must be high.
  • Motorcycle driving skills with a valid license is a must

Responsibilities & Context

  • Duties
  • Develop a yearly training calendar and map community-level accessible venues.
  • Identify children with disabilities, their parents, health workers, community leaders, and local government representatives from the community for capacity-building initiatives.
  • Ensure training is conducted in accessible venues with provisions for reasonable accommodations.
  • Conduct safeguarding risk assessments and develop mitigation plans considering risks faced by children with disabilities.
  • Ensure training methods and materials are accessible and inclusive for all participants.
  • Conduct pre- and post-training assessments and provide follow-up support based on participants’ requirements.
  • Compile training reports following the prescribed format.
  • Contribute to the development of training materials and provide training to various organizations on disability and development aspects, as needed, at the community level.
  • Ensure safe training programs are planned, implemented, and monitored, with the identification of children and youth with disabilities throughout the project period.
  • Adhere to the “Do No Harm” principles at every stage of the project within the Program Management Cycle.

Position Title: Field Trainer

Program: The meaningful Participation and Inclusion of Children and Youth with Disabilities in all domain of CBR.

Location: Rangunia Upazilla, Chattogram

Reporting To: Project Coordinator.

Organization Overview: Association for women empowerment and child rights -AWAC was established in 1998 as a non-profit voluntary social development organization it is registered as a non-political welfare organization under the department of social services. AWAC is going to implement a project named “The Meaningful Participation and Inclusion of Children and Youth with Disabilities in All Domains of Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR)” in Rangunia Upazilla which is Financially and Technically supported by the Lilian Fonds and Centre for Disability in Development (CDD). This collaboration between the Lilian Fonds and CDD highlights the importance of empowering Children and Youth with Disabilities and integrating their needs into mainstream community development. By addressing barriers and fostering inclusion, the project will contribute to building more equitable and accessible societies.

Job Overview:

The Field Trainer will be responsible for preparing training modules, organizing and facilitating training sessions, and building the capacity of community stakeholders, beneficiaries, families, and program staff. The role focuses on enhancing the participation and inclusion of children and youth with disabilities across all domains of Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training Development and Delivery:
  • Design and adapt training materials and modules on CBR and disability inclusion principles as a professional trainer.
  • Conduct training sessions for government authority, community members, families, educators, healthcare providers, and program/project staffs or as required.
  • Provide hands-on coaching and mentoring to enhance participants’ understanding and application of inclusive practices.
  • Capacity Building:
  • Identify training needs of stakeholders and tailor content to address specific gaps.
  • Facilitate workshops, seminars, training, and peer learning sessions to promote best practices in inclusion.
  • Community Engagement:
  • Work closely with families and caregivers to support the active participation of children and youth with disabilities.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of disability rights and the importance of inclusion.
  • Support community-led initiatives to enhance accessibility and inclusivity in CBR programs.
  • Ensure Community Accountability and safeguarding.
  • Excellent community engagement and communication skill is required.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and Annual Report in In English and share to supervisor and higher Management.
  • Documentation project learnings and ensure preserving those documents for further use.
  • Keep regular liaison with donor training department and share this with supervisor.
  • Event report is required as per session.
  • Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Assess the effectiveness of training sessions and adjust content based on feedback and outcomes.
  • Collect data and document, success stories, challenges, and lessons learned from field activities and share it with the supervisor.
  • Prepare and submit regular training reports to the Project Coordinator.
  • Collaboration with Program Team:
  • Work in close coordination with program/project staff to ensure alignment of training with program objectives.
  • Support the development and dissemination of informational materials for the program.
  • Any other task assigned by the higher management.
  • Job Location: The position is based in Rangunia sub district of Chattogram and with regular travel to outside of base station, District, Upazila and Union and level for implementation of project activities smoothly.
