Responsibilities & Context
Community Development Centre (CODEC) is an inheritor of DANIDA Bangladesh derived from couple of project intervention explicitly DANIDA Boat Building Project and Boat Rental Scheme. CODEC has been working as a people centered development organization since 1985.
CODEC invites application for the following position from the potential Bangladeshi nationals for our CODEC –Strengthening the protective environment for children, adolescents and youth in the refugee camps and host communities in Cox’s Bazar Project (CODEC-UNICEF CP Project) located at Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar.
- Responsible for preparation and checking all types of payment vouchers (receipt & payments) with ensuring deduction of Taxes and VAT.
- Keeping invoices, staff advances other documents and records properly & safely;
- Data entry in accounting system. Update cash accounts balance lying in project office on daily basis for operation and credit fund.
- Prepare staff payroll and others
- Maintenance of fixed assets memorandum and preparation of monthly statement according to capitalization policy.
- Update all financial books, monthly bank statement, bank reconciliation and records as per financial procedures following CODEC and UNICEF’s financial compliance.
- Prepare consolidated budget and budget variance report in consultation with Project Manager and place to the management.
- Responsible for monitoring all sorts of financial expenditures according to budget of the project
- Monitor of payment vouchers with ensuring deduction of Taxes and VAT.
- Ensure maintenance of purchase procedures.Prepare periodic (monthly, quarterly, annual) financial report and submit to Project Manager within 5th day of each following month so that Project Manager can submit it within 10th of each month to donor.
- Assist and orient the respective accounts personnel to ensure financial and administrative responsibilities.
- Ensure the accounts keeping, stock registers and establish a financial controlling mechanism.
- Carry out any assigned task need to be accomplishing within the due time as instruction given by Project manager and Head Office Financial Personnel.
- Preserve invoices and all other related documents, so that internal & external Audit could be performed without any objections.
- Assist annual operational plan of CODEC-UNICEF Project jointly with the regional team.
- Preparation of journal voucher with necessary supporting and taking approval from respective authority before recording.
- Taking of GL details from computer and preparation of different reports, working advance etc.
