  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in both English and Bengali.

  • Understanding of financial reporting standards and requirements in Bangladesh’s non-profit sector.

Position Summary:

A detail-oriented and experienced finance professional with a strong background in grant management, financial planning, and compliance. The Finance and Grant Management Officer for the Maitree Project will oversee the project’s financial operations, ensuring adherence to budgets, donor requirements, and compliance with financial policies. This role requires strong analytical skills, familiarity with financial management in the non-profit sector, and a commitment to maintaining transparency and accountability in project finances.

Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Budgeting:

  • Develop and manage project budgets in collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Conduct financial forecasting and analysis to support project planning and resource allocation.
  • Ensure alignment of financial plans with project goals and donor regulations.

Grant Management:

  • Coordinate with donor agencies (USAID, BRAC) to ensure compliance with grant conditions.
  • Prepare grant budgets, financial reports, and required documentation for grant applications.
  • Monitor grant fund utilization, ensuring that expenditures align with approved budgets and project activities.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit accurate, timely monthly and quarterly financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Monitoring and Reporting Officer to integrate financial data into project reports.
  • Ensure that all project transactions and financial reports meet donor requirements and organizational policies.

Compliance and Internal Controls:

  • Implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular reviews of financial transactions, verifying accuracy and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with auditors for periodic financial audits and address audit findings.

Budget Monitoring and Variance Analysis:

  • Monitor project expenditures against the approved budget, identifying and reporting any variances.
  • Provide financial insights and recommend corrective actions to optimize budget utilization.
  • Conduct monthly budget reconciliations to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

  • Maintain comprehensive and organized financial records, including receipts, invoices, and grant-related documentation.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions in accordance with organizational policies and donor requirements.

Capacity Building and Support:

  • Provide financial guidance to project staff and local partners to ensure understanding of budgeting and financial procedures.
  • Conduct training sessions for project teams on financial processes, grant management, and compliance.
  • Act as a point of contact for finance-related inquiries, supporting the project team in budget management.
