The Opportunity

The goal of the Activity is to contribute to improvements in the nutrition outcomes for Feed the Future Zone of Influence (ZoI) households, especially children under five, pregnant and lactating women, and adolescent girls and boys by (1) increasing consumption of nutritious, diverse, and safe diets by households; (2) increasing social and economic empowerment of adolescents and women; and (3) improving adoption of improved water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices. The Activity implements nutrition-sensitive interventions that complement and reinforce ongoing nutrition-specific activities and applies a combination of market systems development (MSD) and social behavior change (SBC) approaches to achieve its goal.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Finance Manager will be responsible for financial operations related to payments for vendors, consultants, grantees, implementing partners (IPs), and staff. The role ensures compliance with regulations of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), organizational policies, and Bangladeshi laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage timely payments to vendors, consultants, grantees, subcontractors, and staff, ensuring compliance with Abt policies and Bangladeshi laws.
  • Review invoices against budget and include all necessary supporting documents in accordance with applicable policies.
  • Review staff travel expense reports and include all necessary supporting documents in accordance with applicable policies.
  • Prepare Payment Authorization and obtain approvals as per approved Segregation of Duties and Delegation of Authority Matrix.
  • Input tax-related information into the eTDs system, deposit the tax amount to the Government Revenue Account, and generate an A-challan from eTDs.
  • Ensure invoices are scanned and ready to submit in the weekly report to the home office through QuickBooks.
  • Preserve the soft copy in the online platform and the hard copy as per organizational procedures.
  • Work with supervisor in prospective grant solicitation process i.e.,collating evaluation score from Grants Evaluation Committee, monitoring and tracking email for incoming concept notes and full applications
  • Conduct quarterly financial reviews of subawardees along with other finance team members.
  • Develop Tax and VAT reports and ensure they are submitted and documented as per organizational practice.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by the Senior Finance and Grants Manager and the Director of Finance and Administration.
