Requirements

Education

• Master of Science (MSc) in Development Studies, Master of Social Science (MSS)

• Master’s degree in Gender studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.

Experience

• At least 3 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
  NGO, Development Agency

Additional Requirements

• Age 25 to 35 years

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in policy advocacy is required.
• Working experience with national or international NGOs or media houses will be preferred.
• Age preference will be 25-35 years (Management has the right to make exceptions based on qualifications and experience).
• Close relationship with stakeholders, including GoB officials, in-depth understanding of policy advocacy, and confidence and self-motivation.
• Expertise in concept note and ToR development, creative writing, storytelling, policy analysis, liaison & event management.
• Should know policies and plans for climate change and child marriage.
•  Should have prior knowledge of evidence-based advocacy.

Responsibilities & Context

The position is for the ‘Enhance Gender Equality through ensuring participation’’ project, funded by the NAGORIKATA CEF Fund. The Gender & Advocacy Associate will support and oversee the implementation of the project’s advocacy and network activities. S/he will develop advocacy strategies, events/seminars, policy dialogues, campaigns, and network-related activities. S/he will organize meetings, capacity development training, and other events related to the project. This post will require travel to the working areas. This position will also ensure SHARP’s presence and visibility in raising women’s voices in collaboration with relevant government stakeholders, donors, and media houses.

Duration: Initially 1 year with possibility of extension based on performance and availability of fund.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure collecting, sharing and dissemination of different initiatives, experiences, learning and good practices both at the field and national levels.
• Identify key short- and long-term opportunities in which we can influence policy processes.
• Assist the teams in the analysis of field data for documentation, decision and action.
• Skills in writing different types of reports and supporting team members for any additional reporting and documentation.
• Organizing events, meetings and policy dialogues involving policy-level stakeholders for policy influence on specific issues.
• Developing advocacy strategy based on project focus and making an implementation plan.
• Any other responsibilities assigned by SHARP.

Compensation & Other Benefits

• The total monthly salary will be Tk 27,777.00 plus 2 bonus, weekly 02 Holidays, phone allowance and travel allowance as per organizational policy.
