Requirements
Education
- Bachelor/Honors
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Education, or related discipline from a government-accredited university. A Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.

- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in NGOs/INGOs, preferably in gender training, community mobilization, or women’s empowerment programs.
- Experience working in Cox’s Bazar with Rohingya communities will be given preference.
- Proven skills in facilitation, training design, and participatory learning methods.
Other Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of gender equality, women’s rights, and humanitarian response.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prepare training materials and reports in Bangla and English.
- Experience in community outreach, awareness campaigns, and group facilitation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
- Willingness to travel frequently to camp areas.
- Knowledge of local dialects (Rohingya/Chittagonian) will be an added advantage.
Required Technical Skills
- Skills in facilitation, community engagement, and documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email communication.
- Strong report writing and record-keeping skills.
Responsibilities & Context
Duty Station: Camp 18, Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar
Reports to: MPWC Manager
Duration: Up to March 2026 (with possibility of extension)
Background: Bangladesh Nari Progati Sangha (BNPS) is a national women rights organization working since 1986 to promote gender equality and social justice from the family to the state level. BNPS strives to create an enabling environment for women, poor and marginalized communities through empowerment and social transformation. Under the project “Women’s Leadership on Improving Peace, Socio-Economic Stability, and Participation in Power Corridors in Cox’s Bazar”, supported by UN Women, BNPS has started to operate a Multi-Purpose Women’s Center (MPWC) in Camp 18. The Center provides a safe, inclusive, and empowering space for Rohingya community women and girls to access psychosocial support, vocational and life skills training, and information on rights and protection services.
Job Summary: The Gender Training Officer will be responsible for designing, facilitating, and coordinating gender awareness, leadership, and life-skills training at the MPWC. She will work closely with the MPWC Manager and Project Coordinator to promote gender equality, women’s rights, and social cohesion among Rohingya community women and girls.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and facilitate gender, leadership, and life-skills training sessions for Rohingya community women and girls at the MPWC.
- Develop and adapt training materials, session plans, and visual aids suitable for low-literacy participants.
- Conduct orientation and awareness sessions on gender equality, GBV prevention, rights and positive social norms.
- Support the MPWC team to integrate gender perspectives across all program components and activities.
- Identify participants’ capacity needs and provide follow-up mentoring or refresher training.
- Maintain accurate records of participants, attendance, and training outputs.
- Prepare training reports, success stories, and documentation as required by BNPS and UN Women.
- Coordinate with local authorities, humanitarian actors, and community representatives to ensure alignment with broader gender and protection initiatives.
- Uphold confidentiality, safeguarding, and survivor-centered principles in all program activities.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor related to the project objectives.
