- Strong leadership and floor management capabilities.
- Deep knowledge of production efficiency, line balancing, and workforce management.
- Sound understanding of machinery, maintenance, and mechanics operations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to balance firmness (“kora”) with people-friendly leadership (“mishuk”).
- Proficiency in English and Bengali.
- 15-20 years of progressive experience in garments/RMG production management
- Minimum 5 years in a senior production leadership role (GM/DGM)
- Strong technical expertise in Sewing, Cutting, Finishing, and Mechanics operations
- Proven track record in large-scale knit garments factories with international buyer exposure
- Hands-on leadership style, with the ability to operate directly on the production floor.
Responsibilities & Context
- Production Leadership & Execution Lead and manage Sewing, Cutting, Finishing, and Mechanics functions to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Drive line balancing, floor discipline, and bottleneck elimination through real-time decision-making.
- Ensure high levels of efficiency, quality, and timely delivery aligned with buyer requirements.
- Monitor machinery maintenance, utilization, and coordinate preventive measures with Mechanics team.
- Planning, Coordination & Collaborate with Merchandising, IE, and Planning teams for smooth execution of production plans.
- Ensure proper manpower allocation, skill development, and training initiatives.
- Oversee production cost optimization while meeting strict shipment deadlines, Compliance & Quality Standards.
- Maintain buyer compliance standards (BSCI, SEDEX, WRAP, ACCORD, ALLIANCE).
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards on the production floor.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality protocols and minimize rework/rejection rates.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor AGMs, Managers, Supervisors, and Mechanics team heads.
- Foster a culture of accountability, performance, and teamwork across production units.
- Show a balance between being firm/strict and being approachable/friendly in leadership style.
- Reporting, Control, Prepare and present daily/weekly/monthly production reports to top management.
- Track and monitor key KPIs such as Efficiency, On-Time Shipment (OTIF), and Defects per Hundred Units (DHU).
- Take immediate corrective actions in case of deviations or delays.
