  • Ability to adapt writing style to meet funding/grant requirements
  • Strong critical thinking skills essential for processing funding requirements, conducting research, organizing information and crafting effective proposals

Responsibilities & Context

BPCL has pioneered the concept of creating worth out of waste in Bangladesh being the first and only post consumer food grade PET bottle to bottle recycling plant in the nation. BPCL was incorporated in 2011 and started its commercial operation in July 2016. Till date, BPCL has contributed to recycling over 2,200,000,000 (220 crore) used PET bottles, preventing them from getting dumped into the ground/river/drain, reducing 28,000 tons of Green House Gas emissions. BPCL’s bottle collection supply chain has provided an income to 35,000 waste pickers by procuring BDT 1 billion (100 crore) worth of discarded PET bottles.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Study and comprehend the structure, objectives, programs and grant/investment needs of BPCL.
  • Research funding opportunities from government and non-government agencies, both national and international, DFI and impact investors related to Municipal Waste Management, Plastic Waste Management & Recycling.
  • Maintain a database of potential donors/DFIs and impact investors. Identify, research and analyze grant/impact funding opportunities.
  • Monitor calls for Expression of Interest (EOI), Call Notices (CN) and Requests for proposals (RFPs) by scouring websites, newspapers and other sources.
  • Manage a calendar with deadlines and a schedule for prospecting, writing and submitting proposals as well as preparing impact reports.
  • Cultivate relationships with impact investors, engaging in discussions to secure investment for sustainable waste management projects.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to identify and pursue new funding and partnership opportunities.
  • Draft, submit and oversee grant/investment proposals and supporting documents based on funding requirements.
  • Prepare documentation, reports and presentations of findings. Proofread proposals for errors before submission.
  • Provide prospective funders with necessary supporting documents.
  • Address internal and external inquiries regarding drafted and submitted proposals.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with fund/grant providers and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Ministries/donors/impact investors or relevant agencies to compile annual reports and/or other reports.
  • Ensure timely submission of completed assignments in the required format.
  • Develop concept papers outlining problems and program-driven solutions.
  • Fulfill any other duties assigned by management.
