Significant experience in a senior leadership role, preferably within a large financial institution;

Strong understanding of investment profile, investment risk management principles and reviewing Investment assumptions as to reasonableness test;

Proven ability to lead and mentor cross-functional teams.
Knowledge: Strategic Management; Islamic Risk and compliance management; Islamic Regulatory Framework of the country; Experience in product development, marketing and Investment, Financial, Ethical and Business Conduct Investigations.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication and leadership skills; Strong self-motivation and drive; Planning and organizing; Adapting and responding to change.
Responsibilities & Context
The Head of Corporate/SME Investment Risk will oversee the respective unit’s investment/credit portfolio under the supervision of the Head of Investment Risk Management Division (HoIRMD). This role involves leading the development and implementation of risk policies and procedures to mitigate credit risk while supporting business growth, as well as leading the preparation, assessment, and recommendation of lending decisions.
Key Responsibilities:

Credit Proposal Review and Approval: Review and analyze credit proposals through the HoIRMD before presenting them to the top management, verifying and validating the accuracy of financial models, client evaluations, and the overall risk profile;

Risk Policy and Framework Development: Develop and implement the respective unit’s credit risk management policies and frameworks, ensuring compliance and adaptability to market changes and emerging risks;

Credit Portfolio Monitoring: Oversee the monitoring of the unit’s credit portfolio to ensure loan performance is within acceptable risk parameters. Implement risk mitigation strategies and early warning processes for potential problematic loans;

Risk Reporting and Communication: Prepare credit risk reports for senior management, highlighting the current risk profile, emerging risks, and areas of concern, while communicating updates to stakeholders, including senior executives and regulators;

Collaboration with Business Units: Collaborate with relationship managers to develop strategies that balance risk management with business development;

Regulatory Compliance and Audits: Ensure that all of the unit’s credit decisions comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and external audit standards. Establish and monitor relevant compliance and governance policies, controls, and procedures, and advice on related risks;

Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis: Conduct regular stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate the unit’s credit portfolio under adverse conditions, and adjust credit policies and risk mitigation strategies accordingly. Ensure all investment procedures are in compliance with legislation.
