Responsibilities & Context

Our woven tops factories, boasting a monthly capacity of 1.3 million pieces, seeks a senior-level leader with exceptional sourcing capabilities across a diverse range of clothing lines, including woven tops and soft bottoms, catering to apparel brands, retailers, and labels. The role primarily focuses on sourcing management, while also encompassing merchandising oversight and seamless coordination with planning and operations teams. Within your role, key responsibilities include:

 

  • Develop and Implement Sourcing Strategy: The head of marketing should devise a comprehensive strategy for procuring orders to maintain regular capacity utilization. This involves identifying potential sources of orders, evaluating their viability, and implementing effective methods to secure them.
  • Identify New Sourcing Opportunities: Constantly scouting for new sourcing opportunities is crucial. The head of marketing should stay updated with industry trends, market demands, and competitor activities to identify new business prospects. This involves networking, market research, and proactive outreach to potential buyers.
  • New Business Development & Promotion: Actively engage in new business development by pitching the company’s offerings to potential buyers. This includes promoting the company’s capabilities, product range, and unique selling points to attract new clients.
  • Costing, Pricing, and Negotiation: Provide accurate costing and pricing of garments based on production costs, market demand, and competitive analysis. Additionally, the head of marketing should lead negotiations with buyers to reach mutually acceptable pricing agreements.
  • Supply Chain/Backward Linkage Management: Ensure efficient management of the supply chain, including backward linkage activities such as sourcing raw materials and ensuring timely availability to meet production requirements.
  • Order Tracking: Oversee the entire order tracking process from the receipt of tech packs (specifications) to shipment. This involves coordinating with various departments such as production, quality control, and logistics to ensure timely execution of orders.
  • Regular/Periodic Reporting: Provide regular and periodic reports to the management team, highlighting key performance metrics, market insights, and strategic recommendations to optimize merchandising activities.
  • Overall Management of Merchandising Activities: Assume overall management responsibility for all merchandising activities within the company. This includes overseeing the work of merchandising teams, setting targets, monitoring performance, and implementing process improvements.
