Education

  • Candidate should be graduate/Post graduate preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Law or a related field or any discipline from any recognized university.

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in special asset management, credit risk, or NPL management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • In-depth knowledge of Bangladesh Bank regulations and guidelines on classified loans and provisioning.

  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Proven track record of managing NPL and recovering written-off loans in a financial institution.

  • Experience with legal processes, including case management, auction procedures, and collaboration with law enforcement agencies.

  • Leadership skills with the ability to train and manage team, and work closely with cross-functional departments like Accounts, Business, and Legal.

Responsibilities & Context

IIDFC is looking for an experienced and dynamic person in the position of Head of Special Asset Management to join our team and lead the recovery and management of non-performing loan (NPL) and classified assets.

Job-Location Head Office

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategies to settle classified loans (SS, DF, BL, Written-Off).

  • Set recovery targets for classified and written-off loans to maximize recovery.

  • Formulate plans to manage interest suspense and provisions, boosting profitability.

  • Monitor account data (Outstanding, EMI, CL status, provisions) across reporting formats.

  • Prepare memos for rescheduling, restructuring, settlement, write-offs, and loan closures.

  • Collaborate with auditors (internal, external, Bangladesh Bank) for audits and inspections.

  • Manage NPL portfolio in compliance with Bangladesh Bank policy/Guidelines and ensure follow-up of overdue accounts.

  • Train and supervise collection, recovery, and legal teams.

  • Present monthly updates on portfolio health and recovery to senior management.

  • Contribute to annual business planning, budgeting, and strategy formulation.
