Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Business Management, Finance, Economics, or Law from a recognized institution

Experience

  • At least 15 years

Additional Requirements

  • Age at most 50 years
  • In-depth knowledge of banking laws, including :·
    • Artha Rin Adalat Ain, 2003 (as amended)
    • Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881
    • Bank Company Act and other relevant laws and ordinances
  • Expertise in banking regulatory frameworks and guidelines on Special Asset Management.
  • Strong track record in the assessment and management of classified assets in financial institutions.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in banking or NBFI, with at least 10 years in Special Asset Management.
  • At least 5 years in a supervisory role, preferably in debt recovery or asset management

Responsibilities & Context

  • Develop and implement effective recovery strategies to optimize revenue recovery.
  • Evaluate creditworthiness, monitor credit realization, and oversee recovery operations.
  • Conduct physical verifications of customer establishments, references and mortgage documentation.
  • Formulate and maintain strategies for credit operations and recovery.
  • Scrutinize credit approval forms and coordinate with relevant departments to enhance bad debt recovery.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal procedures related to credit recovery.
  • Regularly monitor and engage with high-value credit customers.
  • Negotiate settlements with inactive defaulters and liaise with local authorities.
  • Collaborate with legal teams and law enforcement agencies to execute court orders.
  • Prepare analytical reports, including Aging Reports, Credit Utilization Reports, and other management-required reports.
  • Provide strategic advice on debt collection services while ensuring adherence to company policies.
  • Formulate legal strategies to protect the bank’s interests in legal cases.
  • Develop and implement account-wise recovery action plans for classified accounts on a quarterly basis.
  • Ensure proactive follow-up with classified customers (SS, DF & BL) to maximize recovery and mitigate capital losses.
  • Conduct branch and business hub visits to assess recovery prospects.
  • Drive recovery efforts from written-off loans to enhance asset quality.
  • Represent the bank in high-level meetings, including Board Meetings, EC Meetings, SMT Meetings, Credit Committee Meetings, and Task Force Meetings.
  • Maintain communication with Bangladesh Bank and other regulatory authorities regarding NPL classification and provision calculations.
  • Review, monitor, and update action plans for NPL accounts as needed
