Requirements

Education

A BBA (Marketing) with an MBA (Marketing, Strategic Brand Management, or related area) is preferred.

Experience

  • 12 to 15 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
    Manufacturing (FMCG), IT Enabled Service, Food (Packaged)/Beverage, Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM), Group of Companies, Cement, Steel

  • Strong track record of building, managing, and growing successful brands.
  • Deep understanding of consumer behavior, brand positioning, and market trends.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for internal collaboration and external brand representation.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools, analytics platforms, and emerging branding technologies.
  • A creative, strategic thinker who can deliver measurable impact.

Responsibilities & Context

Brand Strategy & Portfolio Management

  • Develop and lead long-term brand strategies for each SBU in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Create and execute differentiated brand positioning strategies for each product vertical (e.g. cement, steel, RMC, feed, FMCG).
  • Design and implement a cohesive brand architecture across Akij Resource and its operating companies.

Brand Planning & Execution Oversight

  • Guide Brand Managers in developing annual brand plans, marketing calendars, and campaign strategies.
  • Ensure consistency in brand voice, tonality, and identity across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Drive synergies and shared learnings between brands where relevant.

Consumer & Market Insight-Driven Strategy

  • Collaborate with Research & Insights to leverage consumer behavior, competitor intelligence, and market trends.
  • Translate insights into actionable brand initiatives and innovation pipelines.
  • Lead brand health tracking and identify growth opportunities.

Integrated Campaign Supervision

  • Oversee the development and execution of integrated campaigns (ATL, BTL, digital, trade marketing).
  • Work closely with creative, media, digital, and PR agencies to ensure impactful brand storytelling.
  • Ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of campaigns with proper evaluation metrics.

Brand Governance & Standardization

  • Maintain strong brand governance by ensuring adherence to brand guidelines across companies.
  • Regularly review marketing collaterals, packaging, trade materials, etc., for alignment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product Development, Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance to drive brand growth and ensure commercial feasibility.
  • Represent the Marketing function in SBU-level Steering Committee meetings and strategic forums.

Capability Building & Team Leadership

  • Directly manage and mentor Brand Managers and related marketing staff.
  • Build a high-performing brand team with strategic thinking and executional excellence.
  • Identify capability gaps and drive upskilling initiatives.

Budget Management & Performance Tracking

  • Plan and manage brand marketing budgets across SBUs efficiently.
  • Define KPIs for brand initiatives, monitor performance, and report regularly to the CBDO.
