Responsibilities & Context
The Head of Technical – Lift/Elevator Service oversees all technical aspects related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of lifts and elevators. This role ensures that all technical operations are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
The Head of Technical will lead a team of engineers and technicians, provide strategic direction, and collaborate with other departments to ensure optimal service delivery and customer satisfaction.
A) Leadership & Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff.
- Develop and implement technical strategies that align with company goals.
- Ensure continuous training and development of technical staff to keep up with industry advancements.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the technical team.
B) Technical Operations:
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of lifts and elevators.
- Ensure all technical operations comply with local and international standards, codes, and regulations.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide expert guidance to the team.
C) Project Management:
- Lead technical projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth execution of projects.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to senior management.
D) Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of service.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Ensure all technical documentation, including service reports, maintenance records, and certifications, are accurate and up-to-date.
E) Customer Service & Relationship Management:
- Work closely with the customer service team to address technical inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Provide technical support and consultation to customers as needed.
F) Budgeting & Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the technical department’s budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Optimize resource allocation, including tools, equipment, and manpower, to meet operational demands.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
G) Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in lift/elevator systems.
- Drive innovation by exploring and implementing new technologies and best practices.
- Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in service delivery, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
