  • Essential: Certified Paramedic qualification

Experience

  • Working experience in the health settings (minimum 1 year)
  • Working experience with MSF or humanitarian Organization desirable

Language

  • Bangla essential. Mission language and Chittagonian speaking desirable

Responsibilities & Context

• Assisting the nurse in organizing and providing care and treatments to patients, respecting at all times, the rules of hygiene, safety, comfort, dignity, medical secret and patient confidentiality. Giving response to nurse’s requirements in case of an emergency

• Participating in the surveillance and monitoring of the patient and reporting to the nurse any relevant information. Compensating patients’ possible lack of autonomy by assisting and helping them in feeding, personal hygiene, movements and general comfort

• Participating in the monitoring of nursing activities (correctly fill in patient files, etc.) and ensuring a relevant transfer of information between duty teams. Reporting any problem arising in the care unit, especially the loss, robbery or damage of equipment or medicines.

• Ensuring cleanliness of his/her working environment (including facilities, material, linen, equipment, and carrying out the sorting and disposal of waste)

• Working together with the nurses, Hygiène Agents and care-takers.

• Participating actively in the hospital platform (meetings, committee,.), trainings and in the basic health education sessions

• Participating in any other related activities as requested by the line manager

• Performing minor maintenance and cleaning of the biomedical equipment following user manual and protocols. Alerting the supervisor in case of malfunctioning of any device.

Context Specific Accountabilities

• Taking patients vital signs and escalate as required. Re-Assess patients according to the directions given for vital sign frequency

• Nutrition assessment ((MUAC, Height, Weight & Z-Score) in different areas like Triage , DTC OPD, ER, IPD

• Supportive care to Homeless/Abundant patients including their personal hygiene. Accompany the Abundant patient in moving, positioning and walking, support in cleaning,bathing & feeding.

• Monitor the mental status, identify early signs of illness, relapse, deteriortion and immediately inform to the senior nurse or doctor. Provide emotional support to the patient.

• Willing to participate in ER minor procedures and wound care and to provide support to the team as required.

• Monitor the patient & notice any change in the individual health, record & report the difference.

• Delever specimen and collect report from lab when required.

• To participate patients feeding, change position, back care, bed bath, mouth care & continous catheter care and documenting the procedures by collaborating with the responsible nurses.

• Assist with moving the patient safely from one place to another, such as from the bed to the toilet, to x-ray, to lab or transferring them from one department to another department

• Performing at night shift in accordance with hospital need.

• Report the incident causing harm to patient, staff or organization, participate in root cause analysis and improvement plan and follow.

• Ensure IPC in point of care by ensuring minor mantainance of biomedical device, enviromental cleansing, personal hygiene (Patient & Staff) and filled up the required IPC documents close collaboration with NTSs and Nurses.

• Be flexible to react positively in any unexpected situation, to do the task assign by the NTSs e.g. Mass casuality incedence management, patients overflow in ER, DTC & IPD.

• Need to ensure the bedside handover during the overlapping time.

• Provide health education and counselling to the patient or patient attendant as required.

• Assist nurses and nurse supervisor with the departmental daily or weekly inventory.

• Work in any area assigned by the line manager and participante in other related activities as requested by the line manager.

Compensation & Other Benefits

Contract and Benefit

Permanent contract. Salary according to level 03 (Three) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 39000 Gross). Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule. 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff.

Others

There is no provisions for relocation. 2 Festival Bonuses after completion of one year of uninterrupted continuous service.
