- Essential diploma in social sciences/or education/pedagogy /or medical/paramedical/or social work /or public health.
- Desirable working experience in MSF (1 year minimum) in health promotion activities, or training-education activities. Read, write and speak in English is essential.
- Essential to speak and understand Rohingya language. Basic computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is essential.
Responsibilities & Context
- In close collaboration with the HP manager, participating in the definition and update of the HP/IEC strategy and identifying indicators in order to monitor HP activities, results, and achievements. Supporting the HP manager in organizing and carrying out assessments and research on the impact of HP activities and identifying and reporting the constraints, difficulties or strength points of the HP strategy inside and outside the medical structures in order to reinforce the link between the communities and the project
- Providing support in selecting and developing quality pedagogical communication strategies towards the community. Planning information campaigns, including targets, objectives, methods and goals in order to increase awareness among the targeted population.
- Informing, according to protocols, community members and identified risk groups (prisons, army, sexual workers, etc.) about health related issues
- Organizing health awareness sessions for MSF’s medical and non-medical staff
- Identifying key actors (local authorities, local NGOs, traditional healers, formal or informal authorities) and being the focal point for the networking in order to support the dissemination of health information of the target population, and be the point of reference for the relation and networking with these subjects.
- Organizing, training, and supervising the HP team in terms of planning and organizing their work, supporting, evaluating and coaching of personnel, collecting reports and reporting the activities of each health worker and regularly visiting communities that are under his/her responsibility
- Supervising, in close collaboration with the HR department, the HR associated processes (recruitment, training/induction, evaluation, potential detection, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required
- Ensuring cleanliness of IEC (information, education and communication) areas
- Collecting and reporting to the medical team any information linked to the health situation of the population and the patient.
- Implementing programmes and supervising health awareness: Responsible for implementation and management of community-based surveillance according to MSF guidelines.
- Participate in surveys, rapid health assessment, Focus Group Discussion, mapping of different services and other information gathering activities.
- Directly responsible for gathering information, detailed analysis and sytematic reporting of humanitarian affairs and security affairs within project locations.
- Following up on all the Community Feedback provided by the outreach team, and report on key issues to the medical/operational team (directly as well as through frequent rapid assessments)
- Supervising the Watsan feedback provided to the Watsan team. Organise and join frequent meetings with influential people from the community and with other relevant actors (both inside the clinic as well as inside the camps).
- Making a close connection with community people by visting community education/awareness sessions, making interactive communication with audience and taking feedback from the community regarding relevant issues.
- Reporting: Compiling weekly and monthly community health promotion data reports and share with HPAM and data supervisor.
- Has an overall responsibility for ensuring that the data collected is cross-checked and reported timely. Analyses data together with the Team Leaders and HPAM. Monthly a brief presentation of the data report with support of HPAM.
- Contribute in Monthly Medical Report (MMR) Human resources management: Ensure regular community visit to keep himself/herself updated about the practical situation of the camps and observe team performance.
- Overall responsibility for ensuring that roasters/ work plans are prepared for his/her team by the Team Leaders. Maintain a database with updated contact details and work/duty location of all CHWs.
- Closely monitors team composition to identify needs of staffing based on programme requirements . Organize continous education, interactive group discussions and trainings for all CHWs.
- Evaluation and performance management of staff in a regular basis. Responsible for following up attendence sheet, prepare payment sheet and submit to HR on time.
- Support and supervise the Team leaders to maintain tracking list of different leaves taken by team members and guide them in assistance with HR.
- Other activities: Supporting the diversification of Health Education in terms of topics, materials used, methods, target audience, target locations, etc. Join monthly Camp Health Sector meetings as a representative. Supporting the Community Based Care program together with the CBC Focal.
- Supporting Digital Health Promotion by implementing new methods in the community for HP sessions and providing feedback on the community acceptability. Sharing monthly working plan with PC support.
- Update meeting minutes on SharePoint for any meeting attended outside of MSF (e.g.health sector).
- Support the bi-weekly/monthly collaboration meeting with mental health department and address the community concern.
- Observe and instruct team to follow the security instructions provided by operations team.
- Collaborate and discuss with other HP supervisor in terms of managing logistics support and maintaing healthy team dynamics.
- Committed to attend and arrange meetings necessary to maintain the regular activities in BKL clinic.
Compensation & Other Benefits
Permanent Contract-Salary according to level 07 (Seven) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 78000 Gross). Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule. 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff. There is no provisions for relocation. 2 Festival Bonuses after completion of one year of uninterrupted continuous service.
