Requirements

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Rural Planning / GIS, Environmental Science /Engineering / Geography / Information Management or related disciplines is required. A master’s Degree in the relevant subject will get preference.

Experience

  • 3 to 4 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
    NGO, Development Agency

Additional Requirements

  • Age at least 23 years

Proficiency in computer applications, with advanced skills in MS Office, including Excel (pivot tables, data analysis, and data management) and Word is required.

Quality reporting and documentation.

Knowledge of GIS software is required.

Statistical Analysis in Excel, SPSS, Origin, R, Python and data visualization in Power BI, Tableau is preferable.

Knowledge with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop is preferable.

Responsibilities & Context

The key purpose of the IM and GIS Officer in the access to energy project is to oversee overall data and information, ensure timely and substantial contributions, and maintain adherence to project standards. The role entails overseeing maintenance and operations, ensuring that all activities are in line with the overarching strategic vision, and ensuring that project deliverables are completed efficiently and cost-effectively. The officer is responsible for ensuring that monthly, annual work plans and project documents yield concrete results through the strategic formulation, implementation, and oversight of policies, reports, and knowledge services. This ultimately aids in the realization of the project’s goals through the enhancement of information and knowledge dissemination.

Support the development and implementation of initiatives that seek to advance the energy services for Rohingya refugees and the communities.

Collect, organize, and manage project data, ensuring that it is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible for all relevant stakeholders.

Support the development of data collection tools and ensure proper data storage and sharing practices.

Develop and maintain knowledge repositories to facilitate information exchange and dissemination within the project team and to external stakeholders.

Analyze data collected from energy projects and other related initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for project improvements.

Communicates with filed staff in an effective, clear and concise manner and provides sound rationales that support recommendations for improvement.

Produce quality reports, factsheet detailing key project activities, progress, and impact, ensuring clear and effective communication with stakeholders.

Prepare detailed reports on project outcomes, trends, and challenges, ensuring timely submission to stakeholders.

Support the development of capacity-building materials and training programs to enhance the technical knowledge of team members related to GIS and information management systems.

Ensure that practices pertaining to information and knowledge management are in accordance with the project’s strategic vision.

Leverage GIS tools for spatial analysis in order to facilitate informed decision-making pertaining to the energy project and its associated initiatives.

Support the management of the project to produce progress & impact reports, project bulletin, success story and case study.

Perform other relevant duties as required for the project as well as the organization.
