As an Innovation Associate, Operations – Otithi is looking for someone who will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless execution of key administrative and logistical components of the project. Their primary purpose is to oversee day-to-day operations, including guide management, training, tour scheduling, and the timely arrangement of necessities, to deliver an exceptional customer experience, develop SoP, and monitor the BLC operation that is associated with Otithi.

Job Description

  • Managing key administrative and logistical components of the project, including overseeing day-to-day operations, tour scheduling, and timely arranging necessities to deliver the best customer experience.
  • Maintaining close relationships with external partners, local vendors, and suppliers, to ensure timely activation whenever needed.
  • Working closely with tour guides and other field staff to ensure all operations are carried out in an appropriate, cost-effective manner.
  • Managing every trip and go along with the guests, ensuring good interaction with them on each one.
  • Collaborating with the management team to develop mitigation strategies to eliminate inefficiencies and provide feedback on upgrades or resources required.
  • Developing and enforce a standard operating procedure (SOP) for a sustainable tourism business in Bangladesh that can be replicated under any governance.
  • Managing the project’s budget through monitoring and effective bookkeeping, as well as developing timely financial reports.
  • Managing any cancellations or changes to any clients’ arrangements.
  • Supporting the marketing team in the execution of promotional activities.
  • Monitoring customer feedback from booking to post-tour to identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tourism industry regulations and best practices to ensure every operation complies with legal requirements and industry standards.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

  • Establish a safeguarding culture across all levels of the programme by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and implemented in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

Additional Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of operational processes and logistics management.
  • Experience in developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Understanding of the tourism industry, particularly in Bangladesh.
  • Familiarity with sustainable tourism practices.
  • Contract negotiation and management.
  • Techniques for handling customer feedback, complaints, and cancellations.
