Responsibilities & Context

INTERN DevOps Engineer Job Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

Learning and Understanding: Gaining a solid understanding of DevOps principles, methodologies, and tools.

Automation: Contributing to the automation of build, test, and deployment processes.

Infrastructure Management: Assisting in managing and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure.

Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Helping monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.

Collaboration: Working closely with development and operations teams to improve processes.

Specific Tasks:

CI/CD Pipelines: Assisting in building and maintaining Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines.

Configuration Management: Using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to manage infrastructure configurations.

Containerization: Working with Docker and Kubernetes to containerize applications.

Scripting: Writing scripts to automate tasks using languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Cloud Platforms: Gaining familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Version Control: Using Git for code management and collaboration.

Documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation for processes and procedures.

SQA TASKS

Test Case Design and Execution:

• Assist in writing and executing test cases based on functional requirements and design specifications.
• Participate in test plan creation and contribute ideas to improve test coverage.

Automation Script Development:

• Collaborate with senior SDETs to develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Appium, or similar.
• Assist in updating and optimizing existing automation frameworks.

Bug Reporting and Tracking:

• Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools like JIRA or Bugzilla.
• Work with developers to reproduce and validate bug fixes.

Incident Response and Troubleshooting:

• Participate in the identification and resolution of system incidents and outages.
• Document incidents and their resolutions to improve future responses.

Documentation:

• Create and maintain documentation related to infrastructure, processes, and automation scripts.
• Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant team members.

Learning and Development:

• Stay up-to-date with the latest DevOps tools and technologies.
• Participate in training sessions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
