Responsibilities & Context

Job Purpose: The position Intern coordinates with different teams (Programme, Finance and seasonal coordinator) in the smooth execution of emergency and regular projects under the humanitarian programme. S/he will also maintain communication with the humanitarian team, other teams of MABCO and the implementing partners in the successful implementation of the humanitarian programme.

Key Accountabilities:

Responsibility# 1: Supporting Needs Assessments and End-line Evaluation:

Assisting in conducting needs assessments and end-line evaluation, PDM which may involve field visits, interviews, focus group discussions, and data analysis. The intern would help collect and organise data necessary for the assessment of project locations and the needs of targeted communities​.

Responsibility# 2: Field Visit Assistance: Participating in field visits to monitor project activities, including the implementation of disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change adaptation (CCA) initiatives. This could involve supporting senior staff in the documentation and reporting of these activities. Participating in field visits to monitor the implementation process of the project, ensuring that activities are carried out as planned, and collecting data for further analysis.

Responsibility# 3: Documentation and Reporting:

Assisting in the documentation of project progress, including the preparation of reports, maintaining records of project activities, and ensuring that all necessary documents, photos, and videos are properly filed​.Supporting the preparation of documentation and reports related to the project activities, including progress reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibility# 4: Support in Coordination and Communication: Helping coordinate and communicate with local government, implementing partners, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth implementation of project activities. The intern might also assist in organizing meetings and follow-up on action points​. Collaborating with various departments such as Finance, HR, Procurement, and the MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) team to ensure smooth project implementation.

Responsibility# 5: Capacity Building Support: Assisting in the organization of training sessions and workshops aimed at building the capacity of local stakeholders, community groups, and project staff on DRR, CCA, including disaster preparedness, early warning systems, resilience building and other relevant topics​.Providing technical support to project staff and partners to help build their capacity in areas such as protection, disaster risk reduction (DRR), and climate change adaptation.

Responsibility# 6: Support in Safeguarding and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies, including the protection of vulnerable groups, and assisting in the dissemination of safeguarding protocols among project stakeholders.

Responsibility# 7: Stakeholder Engagement: Engaging with various stakeholders, including government agencies, community representatives, and local NGOs, to facilitate the successful implementation of project activities.
