Responsibilities & Context
Technical Support:
Provide technical assistance to end-users experiencing issues with hardware, software, network, or other IT systems.
System Monitoring and Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance, including software updates, patch management and security checks.
Incident and Problem Management:
Document and track incidents, analyze root causes, and implement permanent fixes.
Work with other IT teams to ensure the timely resolution of major incidents.
Installation and Configuration:
Install, configure, and deploy hardware, software, and other IT equipment for new or existing employees.
Set up user accounts, permissions, and access control based on organizational policies.
Network and Security Management:
Support network infrastructure, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
Implement and enforce cybersecurity best practices, including antivirus updates, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed documentation of IT infrastructure, including asset inventories, system configurations, and change logs.
Prepare regular reports on system performance, issues, and resolutions.
Compliance and Policy Enforcement:
Ensure systems and practices comply with relevant standards and regulations.
Help enforce IT policies, including data privacy, acceptable use, and access control.
