- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, DNA and protein purification, and analysis will be given priority.
Responsibilities & Context
The ideal candidate must be able to:
- Maintain regular class practicals.
- Manage required apparatus, chemicals, and instruments before the lab class starts.
- Prepare laboratory reagents required for lab classes.
- Demonstrate to students during lab classes.
- Have the ability and drive to solve practical problems.
- Maintain appropriate safety measures and regular maintenance of good laboratory practices.
- Provide guidelines to students during lab work and monitor their discipline during lab classes.
- Handle instruments required for lab classes.
- Order and maintain laboratory supplies.
- Keep laboratory instruments/apparatus and workstations clean.
- Work effectively within time constraints.
- Take responsibility for all aspects of the labs where they work, including equipment, supplies, software, and documentation.
- Communicate properly and assist faculty members during practical classes.
