Responsibilities & Context

We are looking for a Laravel Developer with a strong focus on developing and maintaining RESTful APIs. The ideal candidate should have solid experience in backend development using Laravel and be comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

You will be responsible for implementing secure, well-documented, and efficient APIs that serve frontend applications, mobile apps, or third-party services.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, enhance, and maintain RESTful APIs using Laravel
Collaborate with frontend and mobile developers to align API structures and integration
Implement API authentication and authorization (e.g., Laravel Sanctum, Passport, JWT)
Optimize API performance and ensure scalability across different environments
Maintain code quality through proper structure, naming conventions, and documentation
Debug and resolve issues related to API functionality and data flow
Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement
Assist in planning and refining API features in alignment with business requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in backend development using Laravel (V8 or newer)
Strong understanding of REST API design principles and best practices
Deep understanding of Laravel core features: service container, events, queues, caching, middleware, and service providers
Experience with Eloquent ORM, API resources, route model binding, and middleware
Proficiency in MySQL or other relational databases
Proficient with API authentication and authorization: OAuth2, Laravel Passport, Sanctum, JWT
Experience with API versioning, rate-limiting, and monitoring tools
Familiarity with Git version control
Comfortable working with MVC architecture and Laravel service container

Nice to Have:

Basic exposure to frontend frameworks like Vue.js or React for understanding API consumption
Experience with Docker or Laravel Sail for local development
Understanding of queue workers, job dispatching, and event broadcasting
Familiarity with unit testing and feature testing in Laravel
Experience integrating third-party APIs (e.g., payment gateways, SMS/email providers)
