Education
A master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
Additional Requirements
- Previous experience as a Librarian in an academic institution is highly desirable.
- Thorough knowledge of library management systems and cataloging tools would be an advantage.
- A strong understanding of day-to-day library management, organisational principles for collections and resources, and modern library practices.
- Familiarity with current standards, trends and technologies in library services in higher education.
- Proficiency in library management systems and the use of cataloging tools.
- Demonstrated sound communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with Library users, faculty colleagues and representatives of partner institutions.
- A commitment to providing high levels of customer service to Library users.
- Ability to display initiative and anticipate the changing needs of Library users.
- Time management skills and the capacity to work independently.
- A collegiate approach and collaboration with faculty, colleagues and students.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
- Budget management and project management skills.

In this context, UCB is seeking a highly competent professional for the following position
Major Responsibilities
- Establish a collection of books, both online and onshelf, to support the delivery of partner programs.
- Select and purchase a diverse range of books, publications, and other reading materials that align with the academic needs and general interests of the UCB community.
- Identify suitable online resources to support teaching and learning for the programs offered by the College.
- Ensure the Library is open during operating hours.
- Ensure all Library users can easily access and utilise physical Library resources during the hours of operation, and access online resources at any time.
- Ensure that Library services are provided within budget and identify any areas where savings may be made or more resourcing may be needed.
- Maintain new and existing resources within budgetary constraints and maintain good relationships with vendors and service providers.
