  • UN World Food Programme (WFP) has entrusted Room to Read to implement a 5-year literacy intervention titled ‘McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program’ funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for over 31 thousand students of 149 Government Primary Schools in Madhabpur, Habiganj. As the education technical partner, Room to Read Bangladesh will deliver interventions to enhance students’ literacy skills from Pre-Primary up to Grade 5.

Position Overview:

  • The Literacy Facilitator (LF) is responsible for supporting and coaching Teachers and Head Teachers to adopt new ways of working with children to increase their literacy skills and habit of reading. S/he would assist The Literacy Program Officer with respect to teacher training and capacity building of government officials. The LF will report to the Literacy Program Officer and is based at Habiganj. This position will involve frequent travel to field locations as well as regular interaction with school administrators, teachers and students. S/he would serve as the main point of contact for the school.
