  • The Hunger Project-Bangladesh (THP-BD) is a highly-regarded, the largest volunteer-based development organization in the country, with over 250,000 volunteers, implementing strategies of gender-focused community-led development across the country since 1991 to create hunger and poverty free self-reliant Bangladesh. The Hunger Project empowers millions of women and men, youth leaders, local elected representatives, CSO to end their own hunger.

Project Summary:

  • THP-BD is implementing a five-year long project through a consortium entitled “Multi-Stakeholder Initiative for Peace and Stability” (MIPS) focusing on preventing and mitigating ethnic, religious, and political violence funded by FCDO. MIPS builds on the success of the current PAVE programme described here: ttps://en.thpbd.org/preventing-violence/This is being implemented by creating multi-party platform consisting of political, civil society and religious leaders to promote peace and harmony in 80 Upazilas under 31 districts of Bangladesh. It engages various stakeholders, including the women and youth to enhance their knowledge skills to prevent and mitigate conflicts in their communities. The Project is started in 1st March 2023
