• SQL syntax writing & large database maintenance skill is mandatory (required)
• Working experience in web-based data collection design (required)
• Demonstrated experience in information technology; experience in the usage of office software programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) and advanced comprehension of spreadsheets including ArcGIS. (required)
• Extensive knowledge of data management one or more of the following areas: food security, maternal, child health & nutrition, social welfare, grants/compliance, food commodities/logistics, disaster risk management, and/or gender (desired)
• Ability to travel to project sites within Bandarban district (required)
• Diplomacy, strong presentation skills–oral and written (required)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bangla language Strong written and verbal communication skills (required)
• Previous employment with an international NGO (desired)
• Experience working with USAID-funded program management, policies, regulations, and procedures (preferred)
• Demonstrated experience in data collection; statistical analysis; and reporting; including experience with computer-based statistical packages and databases (MS SQ Server, MS Access, SPSS/STATA etc.) (preferred)
• Familiarity of CHT socio-political history and multi-cultural environment (preferred)

Responsibilities & Context

SCOPE OF THE POSITION

• The Management Information Systems (MIS) Specialist, for USAID’s Bandarban Agriculture and Nutrition Initiative (BANI) will be based in Bandarban/Dhaka, report to the Director-Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) and work closely with the Bandarban-based BANI team.
• The MIS Specialist will provide support for online and offline database user management, assist with online administration control management, supervise implementing partner data entry in a timely manner, assist implementing partners in maintaining data consistency, and conduct data analysis for BANI activities. S/he will develop, maintain, and support Wave-based and/or mobile-based data management tools. S/he will provide necessary consistent data/information to support the preparation of various donor and management reports in a timely manner. S/he should also ensure compliance with data quality standards and maintain a fully auditable data trail for all MEL indicators figures that are reported.
• The MIS Specialist will work closely with the Senior Manager-MEL, IT, and other technical staff to successfully manage, design, and implement knowledge and information applications/technologies. S/he will also undertake extensive field travel to ensure the developed system is consistently updated/aligned with project activities in target areas. As a member of the BANI Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) team, the MIS Specialist will be responsible for providing guidance related to ensuring the quality implementation of BANI’s comprehensive and integrated MIS, as well as the proper documentation of data and information at all project levels (virtually).
