Responsibilities & Context

  • Overall control and supervision of import functions of all concerns of the Group. Lead, monitor, coordinate & supervise day-to-day import-related activities of the Commercial department.
  • Review or update commercial procedures in accordance with new or changing standards. Oversee, Check & control PI & other invoices, packing lists & other related documents for exporting/importing of goods/services.
  • Handle all logistics activities related to import for RMG. On-time LC and TT Opening from the Bank. Sending Original Documents for setting endorsed by the Bank and need to send to C&F on the same day.
  • Ensuring correct documentation, report keeping, and file keeping related to imports. Zero detention and on-time cargo clearing from the port. Taking supply chain cost savings initiatives contributes to the business’s bottom line. Must have a strong knowledge and understanding of customs processes, documentation and commercial activities.
  • Will collect quotation, prepare CS and raise PO, check PI, all terms of Incoterm, payment term, description of goods and HS code and will submit for LC/TT opening at the right time to the bank. Be sure to send the LC and TT copies to the supplier by the same opening date. Check WN and original documents and submit them to the bank for endorsement.
  • Close monitoring of every consignment is needed to make sure shipment from the supplier end takes place on time. And no delay in shipment was encountered.
  • Need to collaborate with the Freight Forwarder and C&F and Shipping line to make sure that import goods are cleared from the port on time without detention.
  • Monitor and deal with Export & import-related documents with the respective authorities of the Bank and Buyers; Ensure shipping documents are submitted/delivered to respective customs stations on time. Speed up Export & Import clearance & documentation through effective communication & monitoring Establish standard procedures for specific freight forwarders and prepare comparative statements for specific exportable items;
  • Liaison and coordinate all activities of Customs, Bond, Bond audit, Bonded warehouse, Incentive, EPB, BGMEA, BIDA (BOI), BANK, CUSTOMS HOUSE, VAT, Income tax etc. Monitor & manage L/C-related work, including corresponding with buyers, opening L/C and its amendment, monitoring, shipment, document retirement formalities and custom clearing, C&F Agent and transport-related concern authorities for smooth and timely delivery of goods.
  • Need to have sound knowledge of letters of credit and related banking activities.
  • Need to be close monitoring with the warehouse team for inventory management.
  • And ensure the plant will not face shortages of RM. Liaison Customs and related government and non-government stakeholders/Offices as and when required.
