Education

• Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Supply Chain Management, Master of Professional Banking (MPB) in Finance & Banking

• PGD in Supply Chain Management will be preferred

• IBA, Dhaka University,University of Dhaka,Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology,North South University,BRAC University students will get preference

Experience

• 9 to 18 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
  Banks, Clearing and Forwarding (C and F) Companies, Pharmaceutical/Medicine Companies, Industrial Machineries (Generator, Diesel Engine etc.), Gas, LPG Gas/Cylinder Gas

Responsibilities & Context

• Procurement of industrial machinery, spare parts, raw materials and chemicals from international markets
• Sourcing of capable supplier(s) ensuring effective procurement of, quality materials with competitive price by way of effective negotiation and obtaining management approval of each consignment·
• Deriving out total cost (landed cost) of each foreign procurement on the basis of involvement of duty, taxes etc.
• Maintain regular contact with the supplier after opening of L/C for ensuring in time shipment of the consignments·
• Coordinate with concerned Department, C & F Agents and Transport Agency after arrival of the consignments at port for ensuring smooth delivery of the same to the project·
• Maintain deed of agreements in connection to a series of specific procurement covering a certain span of time or a future procurement towards protection of company interest·
• Develop and execute procurement plans for different materials and chemicals for maintaining uninterrupted project operation·
• Maintain and update the database of procurement to report supervisor from time to time·
• Maintain liaison with expatriate consultants for rendering services in respect of erection of plants, installation & commissioning of capital machinery and development of production process·
• Arrange payment of expatriate consultants through assessment of service delivery in line with the Deed of Agreement.·
• Follow-up and supervise of Banks related matters, especially L/C opening, release of shipping documents and payment of import bills etc·
• Communicate with insurance companies in relation to insurance claims, negotiate prices with international traders, assignment of expatriate consultants, initiate legal measures etc·
• Receiving indent, reviewing required quantity, current stock, and consumption pattern before preparing procurement plan.
• Coordinating with factory/user department for technical specifications, samples, etc.
• Preparing RFQ / Tender and float inquiry to approved vendors for spare parts and consumables·
• Collecting quotations and doing technical evaluation consulting with the user department before making CS.
• Exploring and selecting potential sources of vendor and following the necessary procedures for enlistment.
• Negotiating and preparing final CS for local items and obtaining recommendations from Head of the Department as well as final approval from the respective authority.
• Preparing purchase orders/work orders and getting approval from the respective authority.
• Following up pipeline materials to ensure on-time delivery.
• Resolving purchase/work order differences & non-compliance with suppliers.
• Settling supplier bills/claims and following up with accounts for timely payment.
• Updating PO / INDENT register as well as internal office files·
• Preparing different types of reports/statements to meet the queries of management.
• Develops appropriate supply chain strategy to maximize customer satisfaction at the lowest possible cost.
• Leads the supply chain team in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed-upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Directs and coordinates supply chain functions through strategy, resource optimization, profitability maximization, and KPIs resulting in the maximization of customer satisfaction.
• Plans, manages and coordinates all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of necessary materials and supplies needed to meet the changing levels of product demand.
• Collaborates with procurement department to determine best practices.
• Develop and implement safety guidelines in all aspects of the supply chain.
• Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards.
