Requirements

Education

  • Must be able to carry out various analysis – stakeholders, market, channels and others – for the purpose of creating the annual plan of PR & Outreach
  • Ability to proofread and draft high-quality documents to be disbursed in various communication channels
  • Must have a well-established network with media, journalists and PR people across newspapers, TV, Radio, PR agencies, advertising agencies, event firms and other related organizations relevant for the job
  • Excellent persuasive written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects and deadlines and identify priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume, results-oriented work environment
  • Strong attention to detail and research skills
  • Ability to periodically attend and work on selected community events occurring outside of regular working hours (e.g., mornings, evenings and occasionally weekends)

Responsibilities & Context

JOB CONTEXT

The Manager/Deputy Manager – Event, Outreach & PR will supervise the overall Event management, Outreach programs and PR activities of ULAB in an effective way. S/he responsible for planning and managing all the events and building external relationships with stakeholders. S/he will work closely with the admissions team to attract quality admission seekers and with the Career Service office to attract reputed employers.

REPORTING

The incumbent will report to Deputy Director – Branding & Communications

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ·

  • Achieve the communications objectives set for events, public relations and outreach set out by the Deputy Director
  • Conduct an annual stakeholders’ analysis through PESTLE framework to identify the relevant stakeholders of ULAB that are relevant for outreach, social media and public relations needed to improve the intake of quality admission seekers.
  • Create and execute the annual events, PR and outreach plan & calendar to systematically connect and improve relations with the ULAB stakeholders in order to improve image among ULAB stakeholders and improve the number of admission seekers
  • Prepare and/or supervise the creation of communication materials relevant for public relation and outreach efforts to ensure maximum print, TV & online media coverage of various activities of ULAB; news, events, achievements, curricular and co/extracurricular activities.
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving relationships with media houses to ensure maximum news coverage achievable within the annual budget across national and regional newspapers and TV channels, which are relevant for ULAB stakeholders.·
  • Prepare regular reports on outreach activities, outcomes, and deliver monthly reports that highlight key metrics and demonstrate progress toward program objectives.
  • Responsible for the planning, execution and reporting of all internal ULAB events
  • Central events such as, but not limited to, Foundation Day – and other special and external events as required by the Communications office to improve relationships with ULAB stakeholders and /or achieve its communication objectives set out for events.
