The SHIKHA project under Social Compolinace Programme aims to strengthen prevention and response to all forms of gender based violence (GBV) at the public and workplaces in Bangladesh through legislative change and effective enforcement, strengthening systems and addressing harmful social norms and gender stereotypes. The project will work in Dhaka, Gazipur, Chattogram, Barisal, Narayanganj and Rajshahi districts in 250 workplaces, 270 educational institutions, public places, digital platforms and with the Government of Bangladesh.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide direct Monitoring, evaluation, accountabilities and learning (MEAL) support to SHIKHA project under Social Compliance Unit (around 100% of the time of the staff).
  • Design and develop MEAL system including monitoring framework, plans and reporting mechanism.
  • Design and implement MIS that includes performance indicators and participant/beneficiary database.
  • Design and develop tools for conducting process monitoring at field level and undertake routine field check and share the monitoring findings (Around 50% of the time of the staff).
  • Support programs to ensure timely data collection, process and reporting.
  • Provide technical support for conducting different research, baseline, midline, end line study or assessments, and midterm reviews.
  • Contribute to preparing annual plans and budgets.Prepare quarterly and annual reports for SHIKHA project using data from MIS and MEAL activities.
  • Prepare learnings documents such as good practice, lessons, challenges and generates evidence as impacts of the BRAC’s efforts.
  • Share M&E findings with management staff, partners, primary stakeholders, and other appropriate forums.
  • Provide MEAL inputs for project proposal development such as indicator setting and develop Logical Framework Approach (LFA) .
  • Build capacity on MEAL for SHIKHA projects and programme personnel including field level and headquarter level staff from the Social Compliance Unit.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
