Responsibilities & Context
- Reviews prescriptions to assure accuracy, to ascertain the needed medicine, and to evaluate their suitability.
- Plans, implements, and maintains procedures for storing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals according to policy and legal requirements to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal.
- Provides information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage.
- Maintains records such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files, inventories and maintains registries of narcotics, and controlled drugs.
- Overseeing the work of and mentoring subordinate staff.
- Ensure proper management of the date expired medicine items from time to time.
- Advises customers on the selection of medication brands, and health care supplies.
- Collaborates with other health care professionals to plan, monitor, review, and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of drugs and drug regimens, providing advice on drug applications and characteristics.
- Analyzes prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and to prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions.
- Orders and purchases pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies, and drugs, maintaining stock and storing and handling it properly.
- Must have good understanding of prescription.
- Must have complete understanding of domestic and foreign medicines, inject-able items, insulin and surgical items available in Bangladesh market.
- Ensuring room temperature and product shelf life is correct at all times.
- To be aware of all the rules and regulations of Drug Authority and Consumer Authority.
- Return expired medications to the company to ensure proper refills.
- Customers need to be served quickly.
- To perform all other tasks required by the company.
