Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor/Honors
  • Masters
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Textile Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional certifications (CSCP, CPSM, or SCM-related training) preferred.

Experience

    • 10 to 15 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments, Textile

Additional Requirements

  • Age 35 to 45 years
  • Strong knowledge of yarn types, counts, blends, and textile raw material markets.
  • Proficiency in ERP or SCM software.
  • Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Good understanding of logistics, import/export, and compliance processes

Responsibilities & Context

  • Develop and execute effective supply chain strategies to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Align supply chain activities with production.
  • Monitor market trends, lead times, and raw material availability to minimize risks.
  • Prepare and monitor the supply chain budget, focusing on cost optimization and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and source high-quality yarns (cotton, polyester, viscose, mélange, etc.) from local and international suppliers.
  • Plan, source, and purchase all types of garment accessories (e.g., labels, tags, buttons, zippers, threads, polybags, cartons, etc.) as per buyer requirements.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, price, lead time, and reliability.
  • Negotiate contracts, payment terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of yarn prices, market trends, and fiber availability.
  • Work closely with the merchandising and production teams to forecast accessory requirements and plan accordingly.
  • Ensure all accessories meet buyer-approved standards, test requirements, and compliance criteria.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with spinning mills, traders, and agents.
  • Develop new suppliers and maintain an approved supplier list.
  • Conduct periodic supplier audits to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Monitor yarn inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
  • Plan and maintain optimum inventory levels based on production schedules.
  • Implement FIFO and other inventory control methods.
  • Oversee storage, handling, and distribution of yarn and other raw materials.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, transporters, and clearing agents for smooth delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with production, planning, quality, and finance departments for end-to-end coordination.
  • Maintain procurement data, contracts, and supplier records in ERP systems.
  • Track key KPIs, including procurement costs, delivery performance, and inventory turnover.
  • Prepare periodic management reports and suggest process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and legal regulations.
  • Assess supply chain risks (price fluctuations, supplier dependency, logistics delays) and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Promote sustainability and ethical sourcing practices within the supply chain.
