Responsibilities & Context

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Manager – Product Development (Ocean Freight), to lead and enhance our ocean freight operations and product offerings. The ideal candidate will excel in building strong relationships, optimizing processes, and driving the development of ocean freight products while ensuring exceptional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas agents, shippers, shipping lines, and key stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of shipments.
• Monitor compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies for all customers.
• Maintain close communication with major shipping lines for securing bookings, space, and competitive rates.
• Negotiate rates with carriers and manage procurement-related tasks to optimize cost efficiency and service quality.
• Supervise and guide the Ocean Freight team, ensuring efficient coordination between customer service, operations, and other departments.
• Monitor EDI/DSR reports for accuracy and ensure timely submissions.
• Drive process improvements, implement strategies for operational excellence, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Lead the development and expansion of ocean freight products to meet market demands and business objectives.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.
• Handle escalations, resolve customer concerns promptly, and maintain high levels of service quality.
• Manage multiple customers simultaneously, effectively prioritizing tasks and resources.
• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
