Requirements

Education

  • B.Sc. in EEE/Mechanical Eng. (BUET, RUET, KUET, CUET)

Experience

    • At least 10 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments, Textile

Additional Requirements

  • Age At most 40 years
  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial utility & Maintenance systems.
  • Proactive and result-oriented mindset.
  • Capable of handling critical situations.
  • Good communication skills in both Bengali and English.

Responsibilities & Context

GMS, a state of art and a leading national export trophy winner and one of the largest knit garments manufacturing company in Bangladesh is going to recruit “Manager/Senior Manager – Utility & Maintenance” for Factory Unit, located in Sardaganj, Kashimpur, Gzipur. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and preventive/breakdown maintenance of utility equipment.
  • Ensure utility & Maintenance support for operation Knitting, Dyeing, Yarn Dyeing, AOP, Printing, Washing, Trims & Accessories machineries.
  • Ensure efficient energy and resource utilization across all utility equipment.
  • Lead and supervise utility engineers, operators, and technicians.
  • Develop shift rosters, assign responsibilities, and monitor team performance.
  • Train and upskill the utility team on best practices, safety, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor fuel, water, steam, compressed air, and power consumption.
  • Optimize operations to reduce energy costs and increase efficiency.
  • Implement energy-saving initiatives across utility areas (e.g., condensate recovery, VFDs, heat recovery, solar integration).
  • Ensure all utility operations comply with national codes, environmental regulations, and factory safety laws.
  • Maintain statutory licenses for boilers, DG sets, emissions, water usage, etc.
  • Ensure safety protocols like boiler pressure checks, emergency shutoffs, ventilation, and PPE usage are followed.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules (PMS) for all utility equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, fuel consumption data, and machine health records.
  • Prepare root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action reports for utility failures or downtime.
  • Support or lead utility system setup for new projects, factory expansions, or upgrades.
  • Plan installation of new utility equipment, ensuring correct specifications, vendor selection, and commissioning.
  • Coordinate with civil, electrical, and mechanical teams for utility integration.
  • Prepare and control utility budgets (fuel, spare parts, manpower).
  • Take initiatives to reduce operating costs while maintaining performance.
  • Well conversant in RSC & LEED Requirement.
