Responsibilities & Context
ACI Premio Plastics Ltd. is looking for a dynamic, technically sound professional in the role of Manager/ Sr. Manager, Material Optimization & Process Efficiency who will be responsible for optimizing raw material usage (virgin & recycled polymers), enhancing production efficiency, and reducing product cost through innovative and scientific recipe management. The position will play a vital role in ensuring quality, sustainability, and cost leadership across our plastic furniture and household product lines.

Key Responsibilities:
Recipe Development & Raw Material Optimization:
- Design and optimize formulations using appropriate ratios of virgin polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) and recycled resins specific to furniture and consumer plastic products.
- Conduct lab-scale and production-scale material trials to validate mechanical performance, surface finish, and long-term durability.
- Collaborate with QA and R&D to ensure recipes meet internal quality standards and customer expectations.
Production Efficiency Improvement
- Identify process bottlenecks and recommend polymer or additive adjustments to reduce cycle time, shrinkage, warpage, and scrap rate.
- Standardize raw material feeding, drying, and mixing techniques to maintain consistency in production.
- Provide technical guidance on mold flow behavior, melt temperature settings, and back pressure optimization based on resin blend.
Cost Control through Material Science
- Evaluate and select cost-effective fillers, colorants, and stabilizers suitable for furniture-grade plastic parts.
- Minimize cost per unit by optimizing regrind/recycled content while maintaining performance benchmarks.
- Conduct regular cost-benefit analyses of formulation changes and propose improvement projects.
Quality & Compliance Support
- Work with QA team to troubleshoot material-related defects such as brittleness, color inconsistency, surface defects, etc.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for heavy metals, VOCs, and material safety (especially for export-focused items).
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Liaise with Supply Chain and Procurement teams to ensure availability of desired raw materials and additives.
- Train production and QA personnel on new material specifications, material handling, and best practices for maintaining product quality.
Data Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain records of trials, recipe versions, cost savings, and quality feedback.
- Prepare periodic reports on material performance, process KPIs, and cost reduction initiatives.
