Additional Requirements

• At least 3-4 years of experience working on market system development, value chain development and relevant fields. Prior experience in climate smart, clean energy sectors will be an advantage

• Familiarity and experience with project management concepts such as Logical Frameworks, Impact Logic or Results Chains

• Considerable understanding and knowledge of rural markets, trading relationships and rural service provision

• Previous experience in sales and marketing preferable

• Experience in business planning with entrepreneurs

• Adept knowledge in financial management, budgeting, bill settlements and compliances

• Must understand the technical, social, and other constraints in the development field.

We are a world leader in making markets work for the poor as well as the longest established market development specialist NGO in Bangladesh. iDE believes that markets can be a powerful force for improving smallholder prosperity by creating income and livelihood opportunities for poor rural households. iDE Bangladesh currently has eight projects in Agricultural Markets, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and Access to Finance with a focus on women’s economic empowerment and climate-smart technologies.

iDE Bangladesh is looking for a qualified Program Manager (PM) for the Clean Cooking Scale Up (CCSU) Bangladesh Project. The overall objective of this project is to promote the sales and utilization of 51,000 eCook stoves in Bangladesh through an inclusive business model which will result in 100,000 tCO2-equivalent GHG emissions reduction per year and improves the livelihoods of 2,000 women and youth engaged in the Clean Energy Technology (CET) sector.

The Market Development Officer (MDO) is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders of the project at the local level. The MDO helps to form linkages with relevant renewable energy solution providers downward to consumers through last mile delivery agents and upwards to the larger private sector. This relationship will include rapport building through activities including but not limited to supply chain support, business capacity development training and technology introduction sessions with local entrepreneurs and last mile delivery agents.
