Responsibilities & Context

  • The Nursing Matron/Head of Nursing is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all nursing operations within the specialized hospital.
  • She will provide strategic direction, leadership, and support to nursing staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care in alignment with the hospital’s mission and objectives.
  • The Matron/Head of Nursing collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, implements best practices in nursing care, and upholds regulatory compliance standards.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the nursing department, ensuring alignment with the hospital’s goals and objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies, procedures, and protocols in collaboration with the Hospital Director/Administrator.
  • Oversee scheduling, staffing, and assignment of nursing personnel to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care delivery.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, professionalism, and collaboration among nursing staff through effective communication, mentoring, and recognition programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate nursing care delivery, clinical outcomes, and patient satisfaction metrics.
  • Implement evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes.
  • Conduct regular audits, performance reviews, and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary committees and initiatives to improve patient care processes and outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and support for ongoing professional development and education programs for nursing staff.
  • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and continuing education opportunities to enhance clinical competencies and skills.

  • Manage the budgetary, material, and human resources of the nursing department efficiently and effectively.
