Requirements
Education
- Master’s Degree in Social Science (MSS) in Development Studies, Statistics, Economics, or Environment/Climate-related subjects.
- Professional certification in MEAL (PGdMEAL, MEAL D’Pro etc) will be an added advantage.

Additional Requirements
Experience:
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in MEAL and at least 2 years of leadership experience in consortium project management, especially in the MEAL team.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in managing big teams.
- Skilled in independently developing and implementing different monitoring and evaluation tools/frameworks.
- Skills in operating SPSS, KOBO, ODK, or others.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook) and a general comfort level working with technology systems.
- Excellent understanding of MEAL including qualitative and quantitative program information and their relevance with overarching MEAL framework and systems.
- Hands-on experience in different approaches for implementing programme, as such HRBA.
- Knowledge and experience in the Climate Change program would be an added advantage.
Skills:
- Proven experience and skills in research and advocacy and influencing institutional, private and/or corporate donors and writing up high-quality donor reports.
- Highly diplomatic with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong skills in networking, advocacy, communication, collaboration and donor liaison.
- Demonstrated high-level technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and complete deliverables on time.
- Fluent in English both written and spoken.
- Ability to coach and mentor partners.

- We are seeking applications from qualified candidates for the position of MEAL Expert for an anticipatory project focused on Climate change. Helvetas Bangladesh will lead the project implementation through multiple international organisations in a consortium set-up. Under the close supervision of the Project Director, this position will closely work with the MEAL representative of the 8 consortium partners.Have a look at the detailed job description here.
Key Responsibilities:
MEAL System Design and Implementation:
- Develop and implement a robust MEAL framework aligned with the consortium’s climate change goals and donor requirements.
- Design and oversee data collection tools, methodologies, and systems to ensure accurate and timely data.
- Establish clear indicators and targets to measure program performance and impact.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Conduct regular monitoring visits to project sites to assess progress, identify challenges, and recommend improvements.
- Analyse data to generate meaningful insights and inform decision-making.
- Prepare regular progress reports and impact assessments to share with stakeholders.
Accountability and Learning:
- Promote accountability to beneficiaries and stakeholders through feedback mechanisms and grievance redress systems.
- Facilitate learning and knowledge sharing within the consortium and with external partners.
- Document lessons learned and best practices to inform future programming.
Capacity Building:
- Provide training and technical assistance to consortium partners on MEAL principles, tools, and techniques.
- Build the capacity of local staff to effectively collect, analyze, and utilize data.
Coordination and Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with consortium partners to ensure alignment of MEAL activities and data sharing.
- Coordinate with the project team to integrate MEAL considerations into project planning and implementation.
- Liaise with donors and other stakeholders to provide regular updates and reports.
