Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines like Development studies, Nutrition, food security, Agriculture, Statistics, Development Studies, Social Science, or relevant discipline from any university.
  • Specific training in project cycle management, monitoring systems, knowledge management, and use of relevant software.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in Monitoring and Evaluation methods and Monitoring and Evaluation data and information management (such as a certificate indicating specific training on Monitoring and Evaluation)

Additional Requirements

  • Age at least 23 years
  • A minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in the relevant field.
  • An understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Working experience in Humanitarian context or crisis.
  • Community development skills, including participatory community assessment and planning techniques, with skills in capacity building of communities and experience of working with different projects groups such as food & nutrition security, livelihoods, disaster risk reduction, and cash for work.
  • Strong influencing and advocacy skills, political and cultural sensitivity.Good interpersonal skills and communication skills – Ability to liaise at all levels.
  • Professional level in MS Office package, KOBO, ODK, or other related software

Responsibilities & Context

  • Assist in developing overall monitoring plans for the project (Livelihoods, climate).
  • Select/develop process, tools (including mobile base monitoring tools), and techniques for capturing information on project impacts, outcomes, outputs, process, and lessons learned.
  • Design and manage gender-disaggregated beneficiary monitoring and database.
  • Provide data and support to project team for develop quarterly, annual, and other event reports including case studies, best practices, and process documentation that capture the outcome of the project based on analysis.
  • Regularly review Monitoring and Evaluation plans, tools, and other documents such as results matrices, reporting templates, etc., as may be necessary for coordination with relevant team or partners.
  • Timely update and share data on the 5W matrix to the cluster management system.
  • Share project M&E tools with partners and provide necessary training support to make partner understand to use of M&E tools.
  • Provide technical support to partners for M&E process when required.
  • Ensure the smooth implementation of the project activity according to M&E plans.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to project sites, to ascertain and promote adherence to agreed standards and timelines of implementation, create greater awareness of reporting.
  • Review monthly progress reports from partners and ensures they have evidence to back up and provide feedback to the respective staff.
  • Conduct monitoring activities of all the project activities implementation and post-implementation monitoring to meet standards on a regular basis.
  • Share learning and provide constructive comments to colleagues in order to ensure project quality.
  • Contribute learning for project staff for adoption of new data monitoring tools and quality of data collected, including through training, mentorship, coaching, and sharing of information.
  • Provide need-based orientation/training to relevant project personnel/partner NGO staff members on M&E process, data gathering, and entering data into database·
  • Identify project needs and develop a detailed timeline for completion.
  • Provide training and mentoring to partners and staff to ensure the implementation of strong M&E process for project activities.
  • Keep track of a project’s progress and ensure its completion before the deadline.
  • Provide feedback to project managers for program revisions and amendments based on monitoring or evaluation findings.
  • Assist to project concept notes/proposal writing if required.
