Responsibilities & Context
Madina Maritime Limited is a concern of Madina Group which is one of the leading company in Bangladesh, with diversified interests in five operating divisions: Polymer Industries, Marine Services, Trading, Cement Industries & Property Development. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring work capability/readiness of all the equipment, ensuring on-time work order, to ensure on-time goods receiving as per management approval with proper approval process. Having depth knowledge and experience in mechanisms of Cranes, Excavators, Dump trucks, payloaders, forklifts, etc. are highly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Staff Management:
- Oversee, guide, and control all officers and staff within the mechanical department.
- Delegate tasks and ensure the mechanical team performs efficiently to meet departmental goals.
- Conduct regular team meetings, and performance reviews, and provide training to improve staff productivity and technical skills.
2. Problem Identification and Troubleshooting:
- Responsible for identifying mechanical issues in equipment such as cranes, excavators, forklifts, payloaders, dump trucks, etc.
- Analyze and diagnose complex mechanical failures, using tools and data to assess the extent of repairs needed.
- Develop effective troubleshooting strategies and action plans to resolve equipment malfunctions promptly.
3. Planning and Implementation:
- Create and implement plans for the maintenance and repair of mechanical devices, ensuring minimal downtime and extending equipment lifespan.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the maintenance plan aligns with operational demands and deadlines.
4. Cost-Effective Solutions:
- Develop and market cost-effective plans for the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment, ensuring the company achieves the best value for money.
- Evaluate options for in-house repairs versus outsourcing to external contractors and make recommendations based on cost and efficiency.
5. Budgeting and Resource Management:
- Manage the budget for mechanical repairs, parts procurement, and staff allocation.
- Ensure resource optimization by reducing unnecessary expenditures and maximizing the efficiency of mechanical operations.
6. Implementation of Mechanical Repair Solutions:
- Supervise the execution of repair solutions and oversee quality control measures to ensure all work is completed according to company standards.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for spare parts procurement and ensure timely delivery of essential components.
7. Maintenance of Records and Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of mechanical issues, repairs, and preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment.
- Document cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements achieved through effective problem-solving and maintenance planning.
8. Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure all mechanical activities comply with health and safety regulations, and implement procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Train staff on safe equipment use and promote adherence to safety protocols across the department.
9. Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Evaluate and propose improvements in the design, functionality, and performance of mechanical devices to prevent recurring issues.
- Stay updated on new technologies and industry trends to suggest innovative solutions for equipment repair and maintenance.
