  • BMDC registration is a must.
  • Candidates should have experience in public awareness programs.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Conduct medical assessments of inpatients, including history taking, physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests for thalassemia patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for thalassemia patients.
  • Determine blood transfusion requirements.
  • Oversee the administration of blood transfusions, ensuring adherence to protocols for patient safety and infection control.
  • Work closely with hematologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and comprehensive care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases, treatment plans, and discharge planning.
  • Coordinate with laboratory and diagnostic services to ensure timely and accurate test results.
  • Coordinate with administrative staff for patient appointments and scheduling.
  • Monitor patients’ progress, adjust treatments as necessary, and manage any complications or side effects of therapies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including patient histories, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements regarding documentation and patient care.
  • Stay updated with the latest medical research and advancements in thalassemia care.
  • Aware patients and their families about thalassemia, its complications, and the importance of adherence to treatment plans.
  • Provide counseling and support to help patients and families cope with the chronic nature of the disease.
  • Work Hours: Our regular work follows a roster with two shifts (8:00am to 3:30pm) and (2:30pm to 10:00pm).
