Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS)
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from any reputed medical college in Bangladesh.
  • Valid BMDC Registrations.

    • Good command of Chitagonian and Bangla. English language skills are an asset.
    • Flexibility to perform other tasks and take initiative when required.
    • Minimum 3 (Three) Years of working Experience in I/NGOs with Humanitarian and Development Sectors.
    • Mentally adaptable to stay at Kutubdia Island (an isolated island) in Cox’s Bazar District.

    Responsibilities & Context

    • Starting date of Job: December -2024.
    • Reporting to: Medical Coordinator.

    It’s a project-based job and the duration depends on approved FD7/FD6 and the availability of funds.

    Overall Responsibilities: 

    Work in charge of the Host Community program and actively collaborate with team members to ensure good collaboration, communication, and implementation of GK’s humanitarian project in Kutubdia.

    • Provide quality curative health consultations following the right procedure (history taking, medical examination, lab investigations, proper diagnosis, and medical prescription) Collect and report beneficiary-related data on a daily basis.
    • Refer patients to Upazilas Health Complex (UHC) when treatment cannot be provided at the Community Clinic. According to the appropriate referral pathway
    • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.
    • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; and complying with legal regulations.
    • Ensure all the necessary materials and equipment before starting the consultation
    • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; and calling for repairs.
    • Respect the Gonoshasthaya Kendra’s Internal Regulations, Terms and Conditions of Engagement, and procedures of all departments and agree to contribute to successful collaboration.
    • Represents GK vis-à-vis local communities, authorities, community clinics, and other humanitarian organizations in a professional manner, upholding GK’s good standing.
    • Perform daily data collection regarding epidemiological data and consultations/services provided according to the templates provided.
    • Carefully investigate any unusual health events or suspected serious communicable diseases provided through any source and report according to the established protocol.
    • Manage emergency medical cases according to GK protocols and referral guidelines.
    • Do all medical and nutrition referrals according to referral protocols.
    • Check the immunization status for all EPI-targeted children and pregnant women and refer the unvaccinated children and pregnant women to a facility providing vaccinations.
    • Perform daily updates to the reporting board in the Community Clinic.
    • Participation in emergency patient management.
    • Actively participate in maintaining IPC.
    • Ensure proper fulfillment of administrative procedures and documents.
    • Team management activities (Conduct Training, workshop, performance, evaluation).
    • Rotation-wise duty among 5 Community Clinic.
    • Technical Supervision of 5 midwives including capacity-building training.
