Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from any reputed medical college in Bangladesh.
- Valid BMDC Registration.
- Preferred Diploma in Medical Ultrasonography.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 1 (One) Year of working Experience in I/NGOs with Humanitarian and Development Sectors.
Responsibilities & Context
Purpose of the job:
Partners in Health and Development (PHD) is a Bangladeshi development organization has been working in the public health sector for last 37 years and implementing different projects around the country. PHD implements number of Emergency Response Projects in Cox’s Bazar District with diversified activities. To maintain the medicine supply, proper dispensing and follow standard protocol in the Health Facilities, PHD intends to hire a Medical Officer to work at FDMN Camp in Ukhiya and invites applications from technically sound and competent persons to apply with confidence.
Major Areas of Responsibilities:
- Provide quality curative health consultations following right procedure (history taking, medical examination, proper diagnosis, and medical prescription). Collect and report beneficiaries related data on a daily basis.
- Refer patients to appropriate health facility when treatment cannot be provided at the health facility, according to appropriate referral pathway.
- Perform USG at Facilities level with preparation and interpretation of report.
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Respect the PHDs Internal Regulations, Terms and Conditions of Engagement and procedures of all departments and agree to contribute for successful collaboration.
- Carefully investigate any unusual health events or suspected serious communicable diseases provided through any source and report according to established protocol.
- Manage emergency medical cases according to protocols and referral guidelines.
- Perform daily update to reporting board in health facilities.
- Participation in emergency patient`s management.
- Actively participate in maintaining IPC.
- Ensure proper fulfillment administrative procedure and documents.
- Team management activities (Training, workshop, performance, evaluation).
