Requirements
Education
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS)
- MBBS from Bangladesh Government approved medical institution and registered with BMDC.
- Preference will be given to candidates with Postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology (DO, MCPS, FCPS Part-I/II, MS, FCPS, or equivalent) may consider for senior level position in eye department.
Experience
- 1 to 2 years
Additional Requirements
- Age At least 28 years
- Candidates should have 1–2 years of experience in general medical practice.
- Candidates with higher levels of ophthalmology experience may be considered for the Senior Medical Officer (Ophthalmology) position.
- Qualified ophthalmic surgeons and consultants who are passionate about serving poor and underserved communities are warmly encouraged to apply or email/contact the Head Office directly for further queries.
Additional Requirements
- Able to adhering and explanation to patients quarries.
- Have good interpersonal skill and professional and humanitarian attitude.
- Proven problem solving skill
- Good communication, reporting and teamwork skills.

Job Context:
Nari Uddug Kendra (NUK) is a well-established national level Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) working since 1991 in Advocacy, Gender and health sector. Currently, NUK is operating 03 Eye hospitals in Bangladesh for eradicating the avoidable blindness from Bangladesh and as well as to meet up the VISION-2020 goal of WHO. Now, NUK is seeking applications for “Medical Officer (General/Eye)” position for NUK operated Hospitals in Kishoreganj District and Savar, Dhaka.
The Medical Officer (General/Eye) is responsible for ensuring patient consultation with friendly customer care, following organizational policy and procedures in line with the best practice for hospitals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Screen, diagnose, and manage common eye and general health conditions.
- Conduct patient assessments at hospitals, vision centers, and outreach camps.
- Refer complex ophthalmic and medical cases appropriately.
- Assist ophthalmologists during clinics and surgical camps.
- Conduct health education and patient counseling.
- Maintain medical records, reports, and service statistics.
- Support community-based health and eye care initiatives.
