Responsibilities & Context

Dhanmondi General & Kidney Hospital Ltd. is looking for a dedicated Medical Technologist-X-ray to operate X-ray equipment. The role involves preparing and positioning patients, adhering to safety protocols.

Job Description:

• Verify the readiness of the equipment by checking the Ready LED indicator; inform the medical physicist or biomedical engineer if it’s not glowing and log the issue.

• Receive and dispatch inpatients by filling out tracer charts from patient files.

• Enter patient details (name, age, sex, region of X-ray, etc.) into the CR/DR system.

• Prepare patients for X-ray contrast studies by ensuring necessary paperwork (consent forms, medical history, old documents) is completed.

• Provide hospital gowns for females and linen sheets for males, as required.

• Request patients to hand over valuables to their attendants, for both outpatients and inpatients.

• Apply techniques and knowledge to minimize radiation exposure to patients, the public, and healthcare personnel in line with the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle.

• After taking the X-ray as per the requisition, check processed films before informing patients of the results.

• For outpatients, inform them about the report collection time, and for inpatients, notify them that the report will be dispatched to their ward.

• Prepare processed films by labeling and packaging them correctly.
• Perform additional tasks as required by departmental rules and regulations.
