Responsibilities & Context

Responsible for:

• Dispense Prescriptions.
• Organize and manage the medicine store including the date of expiry of medicine.
• Communicate with Pharmacist and Medical Officer.
• Ensure Patients’ Safety.
• Ensure patient’s understanding of medical prescriptions.
• Stock Management.
• Maintain diligently all records including Stock Register & Challans.

Activities:

• Ensure quality of medicines provided to patients.
• Ensuring that the provider of medicines is within the law.
• Ensuring that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable.
• Advising patients about medicines, including how to take them, what reactions may occur and answering patients’ questions.
• Ensure stock management and proper record keeping.
• Ensure medicine shelf life.

Skill and Competencies:

Educational Qualification:

• Diploma in Pharmacy from Govt. approved institution.
• Should have license from Bangladesh pharmacy council.

Experience:

• At least 2 years experience of working as a medicine dispenser preferably in an emergency response project/programme.

Skills and Competencies:

• Ability to understand prescriptions.
• In depth knowledge of medication dosage and potential side effects.
• Strong numerical skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Problem-solving competencies.
• Good communication and inter personal skills.
