Research and Policy Council

The Centre for Strategic and Economic Research (CSER) is an independent think tank dedicated to advancing evidence-based policymaking through rigorous research, strategic dialogue, and innovative policy solutions. As part of its institutional development, CSER is establishing its inaugural Research and Policy Council—a distinguished advisory body comprising eminent experts and thought leaders.

The Council will provide strategic guidance on research priorities, uphold the quality and integrity of research, enhance policy relevance, strengthen national and international partnerships, support resource mobilization, and help position CSER as a trusted centre of excellence in strategic and economic research.

CSER invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from distinguished professionals with demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Economics and Public Policy
Public Administration, Governance and Institutional Reform
Agriculture, Food Security and Rural Development
Climate Change, Environment and Energy
Health, Education and Human Development
Business, Trade, Investment and Private Sector Development
Digital Economy, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence
International Development, Development Finance and Economic Diplomacy

Eligibility

Applicants should have:

A distinguished professional, academic, or leadership record.
At least 15 years of relevant experience.
Recognized expertise in research, public policy, or strategic leadership.
A demonstrated commitment to evidence-based policymaking.
High standards of professional integrity and independence.

Role of the Council

Council members will:

Advise on CSER’s strategic research agenda and institutional priorities.
Provide guidance to ensure the quality, integrity, and policy relevance of research.
Identify emerging national and global policy challenges.
Strengthen partnerships with government, academia, the private sector, civil society, and development partners.
Support resource mobilization and institutional development.
Promote CSER’s visibility, credibility, and policy impact nationally and internationally.

Appointment

Council members will be appointed for a three-year term, renewable once, and will serve in an honorary capacity. The Council will normally meet quarterly, either in person or virtually, with additional meetings convened as necessary.
