  • Proven experience in merchandising, preferably in Knit garments, with at least 10 years of relevant work experience.·
  • Strong knowledge of garment manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards.·
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.·
  • Leadership and team management experience.·
  • Proficiency in using relevant software tools and applications for merchandise planning, data analysis, and project management.·
  • An understanding of market trends and the ability to adapt strategies accordingly.·
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.·
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory standards in the apparel industry.·

  • Product Development: Lead the product development process for Knit garments, working closely with the design team to ensure that the product meets customer and market requirements.
  • Sourcing and Vendor Management: Identify and manage relationships with suppliers and manufacturers. Negotiate contracts and terms, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality. Meeting buyers and negotiating the terms of the contract of the buyer’s policy.·
  • Merchandise Planning: Create and manage merchandise plans, considering seasonal trends, sales targets, and budget constraints. Ensure optimal stock levels and inventory management.·
  • Quality Control: Establish and maintain quality control standards for woven garments, working with relevant teams to ensure the products meet quality expectations.·
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and maintain awareness of market pricing to ensure competitiveness while maintaining profitability.·
  • Trend and Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, market demands, and customer preferences to inform product development and merchandising strategies.·
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of merchandisers and other supporting staff, providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Supervise all Merchandisers and production teams including quality, planning, to secure business and also overall order tracking and on-time delivery.·
  • Production Coordination: Oversee production schedules, monitor progress, and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during manufacturing. Arrange fabrics/accessories of the right quality with a planned time frame for smooth production.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Ensure that all products meet regulatory and compliance requirements in terms of safety, labeling, and environmental standards.·
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as sales, stock levels, and profitability, and present findings to senior management.·
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for the merchandising department, ensuring financial goals are met. Planning of Product Merchandising, Strategic and Assortment Planning of the entire range. Review the merchandise plans on a periodic basis to ensure profit is maximized and maintained to reach the target.
  • Any other assignments assigned by HOD and the management.
